So you know how you talk to someone online/in the bars/on the phone and you are somewhat romantically attached to said person.  Even if it's just for a night or whatever.  You know how you start making things up in your head.  Like what the person likes and dislikes.  Like the way that you'll have sex the first time.  Like the way that you'll meet the parents. How you'll get married. Where your little hut on the beach will be located for your honeymoon.

Ok well maybe you don't get detailed with it but hey you make some assumptions about the person you're talking to.  None the less you think about these things and for some reason they are more important to you than everything else.  It truly is sad that we don't take the time to actually get to know the person that we're talking to.

Maybe it's fear of "What if I am wrong?" or something obnoxious like that.  Maybe it's something to do with how we were raised or even society as a whole taking on what we can't easily access.  I wish people were telepathic (or at least me) so i could just jump into their minds and go "Ohh well that makes sense now" and life would be easier.  I'll tell you if we were all telepathic privacy would become a thing of the past really.

Anyways this was sparked by someone who I have been texting (only when we are both drunk really) who mentioned that I have a bad attitude.... I have never met this person before just texted with him.  Yeah it's dumb to dwell on but it made me wonder what really could he have known about me from very few drunken texts.

Ohh well he doesn't matter in the long run but none the less the question remains
"Can you really know someone from texting them or not?"

SUCK MY BALLS!

I'd like to say I love books but that I do not.  I like to read i just hate books.  I hate periodicals too.  They all fold over and never stay open without a hand (or some kind of device) to hold them open so you can copy/read without strain from said book.  I loathe them because they like to close while i am writing or reading and distracting me while I am reading gets me distracted more ....

1 and 3/4s papers down.
Still left:
2 and 1/4 papers.
4 Book reviews
4 reading reviews
1 essay take home

Other than that it's all collating it into appropriate piles for my teachers to read my regurgitated crap most of which I no longer care about.  At least next semester I will only have one real class.  Not to say it's tangible or anything just that it will require thought.

OK so thanksgiving ... pretty cool!  Got to hang with my cousins and family.  My brother has a new girlfriend (What's new?) and I was once again sitting all alone with my little cousin.  I tend to hang out with her because a) she's the only kid and b) she needs someone to talk to at these things.  Being that my brother and I both have chosen not to spawn little spawnlings I think my little cousin gets bored.  Meanwhile on the classfront I finally figured out one of my paper topics which had been eluding me all break and have finally found a great way to do what I want.  My dance class also got a little help this weekend thanks to booze.  Ahh yes it make me think of dance moves.  Other than that life is peachy at the moment.  Now I just need someone to share it with.

Holy cow I haven't updated in a while.
Big things:
  • Registered for classes!
  • Going to see the family for thanksgiving
  • Talked to Danny (haven't seen him in a while)
  • Making plans for NY March 08
Other shit:
Well my poetry prof is cool and all but she showed up at my work yesterday and now knows I fix computers ..... More chances to brown nose but at the same time damn it not another person who knows I do tech crap.  Everyone is leaving for thanksgiving which sucks because I am only going to be gone for like a day at most and all.... Upside is my roomie is gone for 9 days!  Other than that life's been good so far.

Dear Mama,

You would be so proud to see me now.  Today is the first day of my tour of active duty.  We finished boot camp only a few days ago and it was rough mama.  Two of the men from our platoon were sent home after only the first week, but mama you would be so proud to see me.  I am a soldier now.  I grew up to make myself something better and mama I did it.

Mama I think you'd like my platoon.  They're all very nice people.  This really pretty girl named Lilly joined our platoon and wow mama she looks like an angel.  She's got the most beautiful hair and it makes her face just shine.  It's a pleasure to see her shining face in the morning.  She's been so nice to me.  She even let me have her pudding last night in the mess hall.  You'd like Lilly mama she's got that style you's always talking about.  Oh and you would love Nash mama.  He looks just like daddy did in your wedding photos.  Lilly and he signed up together and and they are real good friends now.  He likes motorcycles like I do and well mama he has the coolest motorcycle waiting for him back home.  He's always talking about how when he gets home he and his best buddy are gonna ride their motorcycles across the country from New York to San Francisco.  Man I would love to do that mama but I know you don't like motorcycles.

I think my bunkmate Allen is one of the nicest men you'll ever meet.  He's a good family man mama.  His daughters sound like they are the nicest little girls.  He says when we get back to the states he's going to have a big BBQ and invite all of us to come.  He told me he'd make his famous baked beans and his wife would make her caramel apple pie that won a blue ribbon in their county fair.  I told him I would bring the beer and a nice girl on my arm.  Maybe I will meet one here.  Allen showed us a picture of his family and mama that's what I want.  I want to have a house with a big yard and a bride who makes caramel apple pie.  Mama I know you'd be proud of me when I invited you over for Sunday dinner.

I brought out a picture of you and Suzanne to show my platoon and they thought you were just the most beautiful two ladys they had ever seen.  Nash said Suzanne looks like a model from a magazine.  Eduardo said you were fine Christian women after his own heart.  He likes to wake up every morning and thank the lord that he has another day to live.  He said that it makes him feel like the day is worth living when he sees the first light of day.  I wish you could see it too mama.  It glints off the sand like a stone skipping across the front yard pond.  But I tell you it's pretty to see.  Sara says she sees it like the moon on a lake at night.  She's real nice and she draws the sunrise when she gets a chance.  You'd think she was the greatest at drawing the sun.  I mean you know it looks like a ball of light in the sky but she makes it look like you can see the very surface of the sun.  Her life's been rough from what she's talked about and if you look at her drawings you can see her pain.  Her ex-boyfriend left her before she joined the military.  He said it was a waste of time mama.  He said that being a slave to the man would bring him down and that nothing was worth killing someone over.  You know mama I think some things are worth fighting for I really do.  I think love is worth fighting for.

I send you and Suzanne my love.

Project

So  have decided I want to start a small project.  A kind of ongoing chain of letters about 20 or so from a set of 6 soldiers to their families etc.  Completely ficticious in nature of course but the idea is to make them realistic.  I am going to post them here and I want constructive criticism if you have any comments.  If you're going to say something that's going to be completely useless and rude don't say it.  Otherwise tell me where you see logic gaps or unrealistic things or when I use a military term wrong.  I want fact checking :P  I don't want to end up having a horrible story like the creators of the movie "Sunshine".

New place

So I am all moved into my new place and it's pretty damn cool.  Minus the hole in the living room ceiling which is getting patched here soon.  Hopefully they put in tile in the bathroom too :)  The back door now locks thanks to me :D  My room door now closes properly thanks to me :D and I have to look at the shower because there is what we now call "The Drip" and maybe I can fix that too.  Amazing what one can do with a screwdriver.  To bad it's not fucking sonic like Dr. Who's is.  Which leads me to friday and a second date/get together with a guy I met who seems cool.  We both have like a year here in Boulder for sure so we could easily be friends with benefits but nothing more because we both want to leave this arid state.

Ohh and I have no interpipes at home.  Comcast is annoying damn them!  So I am posting from work and having a good time soaking up all the internets I can.

.... and somewhat annoying that life is so contradictory to what you want or what would seem "good".

Today's quiz in Japanese included a Kanji section to which I knew all of them (or almost positive I did) though I didn't think I did so well on the grammar still not too shabby.

Dark chocolate has become a good friend of mine.  The kind you invite to a snooty party with wine and cheese.  Though I must say the  surprise is that dark chocolate is good with pascilla chile and cayenne pepper in it.

The weirdest thing is the opportunities that present themselves when you choose to not look for them.  Oddly enough they find you .... en masse ... and with dogged relentlessness which ends the second you make a choice.
